Breakups can hurt physically as well as emotionally. Healing is not linear — some days will feel lighter and others heavier. That is normal.
In the first weeks
- Keep basic routines: sleep, meals, movement, daylight.
- Lean on friends and family; tell them what kind of support helps.
- Consider a period of no contact to give yourself space.
- Mute or archive reminders rather than deleting them in a rush.
Processing what happened
Journaling helps many people make sense of their feelings. Try writing about what you learned, what you want next time, and what you are proud of in yourself.
If you are struggling to cope, please speak to someone you trust or a mental-health professional.
